Recruit On-Campus

There are many ways to recruit our students on campus and off. The Chubb Institute (Westbury) Career & Professional Development uses an online recruiting system called CIW powered by NACElink/Symplicity. The first step to recruiting on our campus is to make sure you have a NACElink account. If you do not have a NACElink account, please register by clicking here.

Your company can also be involved in the following ways:

1 . Conduct On-Campus Interviews.^

Two Types of On-Campus Interviews:

"Pre-select scheduling", allows employers to preview (preselect) résumés in advance and then select candidates to be interviewed. Please schedule 6 weeks in advance. "Open Scheduling", allows students to sign-up for interview time slots, according to specified criteria, with no previewing option. Please schedule 4 weeks in advance. On-campus Interviews are held during fall and spring semesters.

Option 1 - Employer Deadline:

Please schedule your on-campus interviews in CIW a minimum of 4-6 weeks prior to the desired interview date.

A benefit is that your company can meet students face-to-face in a quiet, friendly environment. Other benefits include:

  • Diversity of students for entry-level and advanced positions.
  • Ability to interview both traditional-aged students and adult learners (5-15 years working experience) from our School of Professional Studies or MBA programs.

Option 2 - Résumé Collect Program:

Available during Fall and Spring recruiting sessions

Schedule a Résumé Collect:

  • Log-in to your NACElink account by clicking here.
  • In the 'Schedule Requests' tab, click on the 'Add New' button.
  • Fill out the form and click the 'submit' button.

A benefit of résumé collection is that your company doesn't have to come to campus.

2 . Attend a Career Fair.^

Career fairs provide a useful opportunity to meet several students in one location. They also allow for branding of your company name, products and services.

The on-campus Cair Fairs and other recruitment opportunities scheduled for the current or upcoming academic year can be accessed here.

Registration for all fairs is available through CIW.net.

Additionally, if you hold interviews at your organization's site, the Career Center & GAMP office will publicize your event. Please provide dates and times, and we will gladly notify students on your behalf.

Please call (509) 313-4085 or email [email protected] to discuss the recruiting program.

3 . Make a connection with students through Networking.^

The Career & Professional Development offers employers a number of opportunities to interact with CIW students and alumni, brand your company name, and help students develop career paths. Below are a number of ways to meet and interface with proactive students.

Unless otherwise specified, for the events below, please contact [email protected] or (509) 313-4234.

4 . Set up an information table in the student center.^

Tables may be scheduled weekdays during fall and spring semester in the Crosby Student Center. To schedule an Information Table, call (509) 313-4097.

5 . Hold an information session.^

Information Sessions can be scheduled weekdays in fall and spring. An information session is an opportunity to provide an overview of your organization. We highly recommended conducting one prior to on-campus interviewing sessions. The Career & Professional Development handles the meeting room reservations and it's free of charge. Refreshments can be arranged by Sodexo catering. For complete information on visiting campus, call Karen Franks-Harding directly at (509) 313-4085 or e-mail [email protected].

6 . Volunteer to help at mock interviews.^

The Career Center conducts a mock interview program for students and alumni one to two times per year. These opportunities provide a venue for students to polish interview skills and employers to meet and help students. If you would like to participate in the Speed Mock Interviews, please contact Karen Franks-Harding at (509) 313-4085 or [email protected] or go to www.CIW.net.

7 . Become a mentor.^

The CIW Alumni Mentor Program (GAMP) invites employers and friends to mentor current CIW students. It's a great opportunity to share career information, provide tips on job hunting or help students prepare for the transition into the professional world. You may register here.

8 . Attend a brown bag lunch meeting with our students.^

Employers are invited to campus to share information about their career field and organization with students in an informal setting. Please contact Erin Shields at (509) 313-4048 or [email protected] for more information.

9 . Advertise in the school newspaper.^

If you would like to advertise in the Bulletin, our student newspaper, please view the advertisement rates in their media kit and/or contact their office at [email protected] or (509) 313-6839. Please review the advertisement options with the Bulletin staff, and always feel free to contact our office with any questions.
